COVID PANDEMIC PARALYSES EDUCATION SYSTEM
The world has witnessed a number of pandemics in past but history won’t repeat if we give a glance on this corona pandemic ,which has become a global challenge and put all the nations in a nail biting situation. The students of this 21st century have experienced a unique scenario in educational sector which seems to be a friction not for going to schools, colleges or any educational institutes for last 2 years. when the students of this generation will share this experience with their children or grand children in later years, the reality may be treated as a fable by the upcoming generation.
In a state like Odisha many families who lead their life in hand to mouth rely on the public school system not only for education, but for necessities like food, study materials, childcare. With schools cancelled, a lot of children are deprived of getting the basic facilities that they were enjoying. It has also become a herculean task for the low income families how to help their children in their studies. On the other hand some schools have already started online classes, but it is quite ridiculous.
How many children of the county sides are using smart phones? How many of them do have access to computers or internet in their homes? Have they got their study materials from schools? How far the parents are aware of the studies of their tots? Secondly the infrastructure of our state is not so technically strong to create a digital platform for all the students in the remote area. Without proper meticulous steps or alternative process ,it seems to be impossible to provide education and the students will be forced to miss out their fundamental rights until further solutions can be arranged.
