Panic strikes Odisha's Nuapada as leopard allegedly kills woman in forest

Nuapada, Nov 4: A state of panic engulfed Nuapada in Odisha on Saturday as reports emerged of a leopard allegedly killing a woman in the village of Siliaribahara, located within the Sadar range of the district.
Sources revealed that a woman had ventured into the forest on Friday but did not return. It was reported that a leopard had dragged her deep into the forest.
Certain villagers claimed to have discovered her dismembered body parts scattered across various locations within the forest. This tragic incident has instilled fear among the local residents.
Upon receiving information about the incident, forest officials promptly arrived at the village and initiated an investigation. This event occurred shortly after the recent incident in which a young boy was fatally attacked by a leopard in the same district.
The 7-year-old Dambaru Majhi, son of Human Majhi from Goudhaspada in Katingpani village under the Dharambandha police station, was playing in front of his house in the evening. A leopard suddenly appeared, seized Dambaru in its jaws, and disappeared into the nearby forest. Some villagers who witnessed the incident raised an alarm, but the elusive wild cat vanished.
