Class VIII girl found with severe burns, police probe underway in Bargarh

Bhubaneswar, Aug 11: In a deeply distressing incident, a Class VIII student was discovered with severe burn injuries on a football field in the Padampur area of Bargarh district on Monday morning. The incident occurred at Phiringmala village under Gaisilet police limits and has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Preliminary reports suggest that the girl, who had come to her uncle’s village for the holidays, may have attempted self-immolation by dousing herself with petrol. Sources indicate she was reportedly upset after a classmate made a hurtful remark, which may have contributed to her distress.
