Santrupt Misra, Datteswar Hota file nominations for Rajya Sabha polls
Bhubaneswar, Mar 5: Candidates of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Santrupt Misra and Datteswar Hota, filed their nomination papers on Thursday for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Odisha.
The nominations were submitted at the State Legislative Assembly in the presence of BJD president and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhakta Charan Das.
Santrupt Misra has been fielded by the BJD for the third Rajya Sabha seat from the state, while Dr. Datteswar Hota has been nominated as a common candidate for the crucial fourth seat with the support of the Indian National Congress.
The nominations were filed on the final day of the process, marking an important development ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections in the state. Senior leaders from both the BJD and Congress were present during the filing of the papers, reflecting the alliance between the two parties for the fourth seat.
The contest for the remaining seats is expected to witness intense political competition in the Odisha Assembly.
