Mumbai, August 29: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has reportedly tested positive for H1N1 influenza, commonly known as swine flu, forcing him to temporarily step away from public appearances and postpone a scheduled event in Bengaluru.

According to reports, Hashmi had been feeling unwell for several days after returning from recent work-related travel, including a visit to Ranchi. Following persistent illness, he underwent medical tests, which reportedly confirmed that he had contracted H1N1 influenza on August 28.

The actor is currently focusing on his recovery and has been advised to take adequate rest and follow necessary medical precautions. His health update comes at a significant time in his professional career, as his latest film, Awarapan 2, has been receiving strong attention at the box office.

Hashmi was scheduled to attend an event in Bengaluru as part of his professional commitments. However, his illness has forced the organisers to postpone the programme.
