Bhubaneswar, Aug 8: In a horrifying incident, a young man was brutally hacked to death by a group of unidentified miscreants late last night in Odisha's Kalahandi district. The gruesome murder occurred at Ghodaghat Pada Chowk in Bhawanipatna, under the jurisdiction of the Town Police Station.

The deceased has been identified as Satyanarayan Ray, a resident of Bahadur Bagicha Pada. According to preliminary reports, the incident took place around 12:30 AM, when Satyanarayan was attacked by the assailants. He sustained multiple injuries and died on the spot.

Locals allege that the murder may have stemmed from a petty argument, although the exact motive behind the brutal attack is yet to be confirmed. Panic and fear have gripped the locality following the violent incident.

Upon receiving the information, a team from Bhawanipatna Town Police Station rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. Forensic experts have also been called in to examine the crime scene. However, no arrests have been made so far, and the accused remain absconding.

Police have assured that efforts are on to identify and apprehend the culprits. Further investigation is currently underway.
