Direct Bangkok flight services to resume from Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, Sep 10: Direct flight services between Bhubaneswar and Bangkok will resume from October 2, providing passengers with a convenient international air link between Odisha’s capital and Thailand’s capital.
The service will operate twice a week from Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar. The direct connection is expected to benefit passengers travelling for tourism, business, education and other purposes, while also improving Odisha’s international air connectivity.
The service had earlier been temporarily suspended due to concerns over passenger load. However, with the tourism season beginning in October and demand for international travel expected to increase, the airline has decided to resume the direct flight operation.
Bhubaneswar Airport Director Prasanna Pradhan informed about the resumption of the Bangkok service and said the restart would provide greater convenience to passengers from Odisha and neighbouring regions.
The direct connection is also expected to support the state’s tourism sector by making travel to Thailand more accessible for visitors from Odisha. Similarly, the service could encourage more international tourists to explore Odisha’s cultural, historical and natural attractions.
The resumption of the Bangkok flight is being viewed as an important step towards strengthening Bhubaneswar’s position as an international aviation hub and expanding the state’s connectivity with key overseas destinations.
