Bhubaneswar, Sep 29: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, on Tuesday clarified that the Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET)-2026 will be conducted on September 30 as per the original schedule, dismissing rumours about postponement of the examination.

In an official video statement, BSE President Srikanta Tarai said the Board had taken no decision to defer or postpone the examination. He urged candidates to ignore misinformation and rumours being circulated on social media regarding the test.

“The OSSTET-2026 will be conducted as per the pre-decided schedule tomorrow. No decision has been taken to postpone the exam. Candidates should not believe in rumours,” Tarai said.

The clarification was issued after reports claiming that the teacher eligibility test had been postponed began circulating on social media, creating confusion among thousands of candidates preparing to appear for the examination.

Tarai appealed to all aspirants to rely only on official communications issued by the Board and concentrate on their examination preparations instead of paying attention to unverified information.

According to the Board, necessary arrangements for conducting OSSTET-2026 have been completed at the designated examination centres. Security and other logistical measures have also been put in place to ensure the examination is conducted smoothly.

Candidates have been advised to follow the examination schedule and instructions issued by the BSE and report to their respective centres as required.
