Odisha Vigilance raids unearth crores in assets linked to soil conservation joint director

Bhubaneswar, June 30: The Odisha Vigilance Department has unearthed substantial assets during simultaneous raids at eight locations linked to Dayanidhi Bagh, Joint Director in the Office of the Director, Soil Conservation and Watershed Development Department. The raids were conducted across Bhubaneswar, Kalahandi, and Nabarangpur districts following allegations of possession of disproportionate assets.
Preliminary findings from the house searches revealed several high-value properties and investments in the name of Bagh and his family members. These include a 3-BHK flat (1450 sq. ft.) at Mahanadi Apartment in Gothapatana, Bhubaneswar, and a 3,000 sq. ft. under-construction building at Padalguda near Majhiguda Chhaka in Nabarangpur. Another residential building was found at Housing Board Colony in Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
A shopping complex with five shops near Nabarangpur Town, a 40-acre farmhouse with drip irrigation at Bijraguda (estimated investment: ₹1 crore), and another 6-acre farmhouse at Phatakote (₹34 lakh investment) were also uncovered. Additionally, 11 acres of land near Bhawanipatna, bank deposits amounting to ₹55 lakh, and a Brezza car suspected to be benami were found. The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently valuing the assets. Further investigation is ongoing.
