Odisha Govt to disburse second instalment of Subhadra Yojana funds on March 8

Bhubaneswar, Feb 28: The Odisha government is set to release the second instalment of funds under the Subhadra Yojana on March 8, benefiting nearly 1 crore women, announced Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Friday. The funds will be transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts during a special event in Berhampur, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
Speaking to the media, Parida said, “We have achieved our target of reaching 1 crore beneficiaries. On March 8, at least 1 crore women will receive their entitled funds through direct bank transfer at a grand event in Berhampur.”
The Subhadra Yojana, launched on September 17, 2024, following the BJP government’s formation in Odisha, aims to provide financial assistance to women. In its first phase, Rs 5,000 was credited to the bank accounts of 25 women.
The scheme rapidly expanded, covering 39 lakh women in the second phase on October 9, 2024. The third phase benefited 20 lakh women on November 24, 2024, followed by the fourth phase, in which 18 lakh women received funds on February 8, 2025.
