Odisha gears up for NEP 2025 with comprehensive action plan

Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: The Odisha government is gearing up to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) in schools across the state by 2025, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond announced on Wednesday.
Addressing a question in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Gond detailed the preparations for a seamless transition to the NEP framework. He revealed that a Task Force Committee, supported by six sub-committees, has been formed to guide the process. These committees will offer specific recommendations to ensure effective implementation. “We are collecting inputs and suggestions from all stakeholders, and once finalized, the NEP will be formally introduced in schools,” he said.
Highlighting efforts to address teacher shortages, the minister assured that the government is actively working to fill vacancies. “We are committed to improving the education sector by addressing all essential requirements,” he added.
Gond emphasized that the department is dedicated to educational reform, ensuring that the NEP is successfully integrated to enhance the overall quality of school education in Odisha.
