Youth arrested for stealing silver crown from Lord Ganesha idol in Cuttack
Bhubaneswar, Sept 12: Lalbagh police arrested a young man on Thursday for stealing a silver crown from Lord Ganesha’s idol at a puja pandal in the Haripur area of Cuttack.
The accused, a resident of Patapola, had been planning the theft for some time before executing it. According to sources, members of the local puja committee alerted the police, who swiftly launched a search operation.
The youth was apprehended, and the stolen silver crown was recovered from his possession. During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to the crime. He is currently in police custody and will be presented in court soon.
The incident has sparked concern among the residents of Haripur, especially during the ongoing festive season. Local authorities have increased vigilance in the area to prevent any further disturbances.
