Inventory of Puri temple treasures after restoration: Justice Biswanath Rath

Bhubaneswar, July 24: Justice Biswanath Rath, head of the committee overseeing the inventorisation and conservation of the Ratna Bhandar at Puri Jagannath Temple, announced that the counting and inventory of the treasure trove’s valuables will begin once the repair work is completed.
Speaking to the media, Rath stated, "The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the inventory is already in place. Counting and inventory of Ratna Bhandar’s valuables will be conducted after the repair work of the treasure trove is completed."
Rath also mentioned that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will undertake the meticulous repair work of both the inner and outer chambers of the Ratna Bhandar, ensuring it lasts for at least 100 years. Once ASI completes the repairs, they will hand over the site, after which the inventory and counting of the treasures will be conducted.
An 11-member authorized team, led by Justice Biswanath Rath, entered the inner chamber of the Ratna Bhandar on July 18 and moved the ornaments and valuables to a temporary strongroom. After storing the valuable items, the doors were sealed.
