Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi appointed Vice Chairperson of IPU Asia Pacific Group

Bhubaneswar, July 24: Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi has been appointed as the Vice Chairperson of the Asia Pacific Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
Sarangi’s nomination came from the IPU Executive Committee. She announced her new role via social media, sharing a message from Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
In March of last year, Sarangi participated actively in the IPU Assembly held in Geneva and has been a member of the IPU’s Executive Committee.
On Twitter, Sarangi stated: “During the 148th IPU Assembly in Geneva in March 2024, I was nominated as the Vice Chairperson of the IPU representing the Asia Pacific Group. I received the intimation from @LokSabhaSectt. I am humbled by this honor.”
Additionally, Aparajita Sarangi has been appointed to the House Committee, a 12-member panel chaired by Dr. Mahesh Sharma. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has included her in this esteemed committee.
