High Court upholds OSEPA merit list for junior teacher recruitment

Bhubaneswar, June 18: The Orissa High Court has ruled in favor of recruiting junior teachers based on the merit list upheld by OSEPA, directing the State Government to proceed with appointments accordingly.
Following hearings by a two-member bench, the High Court delivered its verdict today, resolving multiple appeals concerning district-wise junior teacher recruitment.
Earlier, the High Court had dismissed the OSEPA merit list on March 12, prompting orders for a new merit list under revised appointment terms. The case concluded with a verdict reserved since January 31.
Previously, on January 19, the High Court had issued a stay order on Odisha School Education Programme Authority's (OSEPA) junior teacher appointments amidst allegations of recruitment irregularities. Although document verification proceeded on January 20-21 as scheduled, the final candidate list was withheld pending court proceedings.
The next hearing is scheduled for January 24 (Wednesday).
