Traffic advisory issued for PM Modi's Bhubaneswar roadshow

Bhubaneswar, May 9: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled roadshow in Bhubaneswar on May 10, the Commissionerate of Police has issued a traffic advisory.
Vehicular movement between Mastercanteen Square and Vani Vihar, and vice versa, has been prohibited until the conclusion of the PM's roadshow, set to commence at 6 PM.
No vehicles will be permitted on Janpath Road, from Master Canteen Square to Vani Vihar, starting from 2 PM on May 10 until the conclusion of the roadshow. Similarly, vehicular access from Vani Vihar to Master Canteen Square will be restricted from 4 PM onwards till the end of the event. Vehicles approaching from adjacent lanes are also barred from accessing Janpath Road during this time.
Security arrangements, jointly reviewed by the Special Protection Group (SPG) commandos and the Commissionerate of Police, include the installation of barricades along the designated route, rendering it a no-fly zone. The entire stretch will undergo sanitation procedures.
Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda disclosed that a significant police force deployment comprising 55 platoons, 5 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), 10 Additional DCPs, 27 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 41 Inspectors, and 180 other officers will be stationed along the route from Vani Vihar to Mastercanteen Square. Additionally, three units of the anti-terrorist Special Tactical Unit (STU) will be deployed, with dog and bomb squads ensuring thorough security measures.
Simultaneously, the state unit of the BJP has commenced preparations for the PM's mega roadshow in Bhubaneswar. Following an overnight stay in the state capital, PM Modi is scheduled to address a public meeting in Balangir on May 11.
