CM Naveen Patnaik approves major water storage initiative in Boudh river

Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday gave the green light to an instream water storage structure in Boudh district, with an estimated cost of Rs 324 crore. Official sources indicate that the approved project is the Satigat Instream Storage Structure located in the Salki River within Boudh district.
The implementation of this project is expected to bring substantial benefits to the residents of Boudh district, particularly in the domains of drinking water initiatives, fisheries, animal husbandry, and an overall improvement in groundwater levels.
It is noteworthy that, prompted by the Chief Minister's directives, V K Pandian, the Chairman of 5T (Teamwork, Transparency, Technology, Time Leading to Transformation) and Nabin Odisha, had previously visited Boudh district. During this visit, he gathered project proposals from the public. The Chief Minister subsequently granted approval for the instream water storage structure based on the proposals received from the local community.
