Elderly man trampled to death by rogue elephant in Koida Forest Range

Bhubaneswar, Sept 11: A tragic incident was reported from Sana Indupur village under Koida Forest Range on Wednesday night, where an elderly man lost his life after being attacked by a rogue elephant.
The deceased has been identified as Shivaram Badaikabu, a local resident. According to sources, the 70-year-old was asleep inside his house when the wild elephant broke into the premises, dragged him outside, and trampled him to death. The sudden and brutal attack has left the entire village in shock and grief.
The incident has sparked tension in the locality, with villagers expressing anger and fear over the increasing menace of wild elephants in the region. Residents have urged the forest department to take urgent steps to chase the animal away and ensure the safety of people living in the affected villages.
As per reports, the forest department team had not reached the spot until late night, and the victim’s body was lying at the scene. Locals have demanded swift compensation for the bereaved family along with strong measures to prevent further loss of life and property.
