Odisha BJP Chief Manmohan Samal denies talks on cabinet expansion and appointments

Bhubaneswar, Sept 10: Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal on Wednesday dismissed speculations regarding cabinet expansion and fresh appointments to various boards and corporations in the state. Returning from Delhi, Samal clarified that no such discussions had taken place during his meetings with party leaders.
Speaking to reporters at Biju Patnaik International Airport, Samal said, “I met central leaders and MPs in Delhi as part of routine discussions. These are normal processes in party functioning. Decisions on cabinet expansion or appointments will be made at the appropriate time. As of now, there will be no changes, and whenever a decision is taken, it will be formally communicated.”
His clarification comes at a time when political circles in Odisha were abuzz with speculation following the Delhi visits of both Samal and Chief Minister Mohan Majhi. The back-to-back visits had triggered talk of possible cabinet reshuffles and new leadership roles in state-run boards and corporations.
By putting an end to rumours, Samal signaled stability within the party’s state unit, while also leaving the door open for future decisions based on organizational and administrative requirements.
