Odisha Agriculture dept warns officers over posting delays, salary to be withheld for defaulters

Bhubaneswar, Aug 21: The Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Government of Odisha, has issued a stern directive to ensure strict compliance with transfer and posting orders. In a notification released by Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, the department made it clear that all promoted and transferred officers must report to their new place of posting without delay.
The order specifies that officers who fail to join their designated postings by August 31, 2025, will face disciplinary action. In addition, their salary will not be drawn from the establishment they have been transferred out of, making it clear that no officer can draw benefits without fulfilling posting requirements.
The department has also cautioned officials against seeking undue influence to alter or modify transfer orders, warning that such attempts will be dealt with strictly. To ensure effective implementation, Heads of Directorates and Field Establishments have been directed to closely monitor compliance and immediately report cases of non-joining.
This move aims to strengthen accountability, prevent administrative delays, and ensure the smooth functioning of offices at the grassroots level, ultimately benefiting farmers and agricultural services across the state.
