Fire breaks out in Bhubaneswar private college auditorium; 65 students rescued safely

Bhubaneswar, July 18: Panic gripped a private college in Jagamara, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, after a major fire broke out in the auditorium located on the second floor of the campus building. The incident occurred during college hours, triggering alarm among both students and staff.
According to sources, thick smoke quickly spread through the upper floors, creating a chaotic situation. A total of 65 students who were attending classes on the third floor were trapped for a brief period. Fire brigade personnel arrived at the scene promptly and launched a swift rescue operation. All the students were safely evacuated, preventing a major tragedy.
One student, who reportedly experienced uneasiness due to smoke inhalation, was taken to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure and is currently under observation.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control before it could spread further. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is underway to determine the source. The incident has raised concerns about fire safety measures and emergency preparedness in educational institutions.
