Odisha to launch online ambulance booking via ‘Odisha Yatri’ app

Bhubaneswar, June 17: The Odisha government is set to roll out an online ambulance booking service through the ‘Odisha Yatri’ mobile app, announced Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena. The initiative, developed in collaboration with the State Transport Department and Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), aims to streamline emergency medical transport and ensure timely access to ambulance services across the state.
Minister Jena informed that both government and private ambulances will be available for booking on the app. “Citizens can use the Odisha Yatri app to locate and book the nearest available ambulance during medical emergencies. The service will be efficient, transparent, and reliable,” he said while speaking to the media.
Importantly, the government will fix the price tariff for private ambulance services to ensure affordability and prevent exploitation during emergencies. The onboarding process for private ambulance operators will begin soon.
Once launched, this initiative will bring all ambulance services under one digital platform, enabling faster response times and better coordination. It is expected to significantly improve the state’s emergency healthcare delivery system.
