Father-daughter duo killed, seven injured in Boudh road accident; CM announces ex-gratia

Bhubaneswar, May 28: In a tragic road accident late Tuesday night, two persons were killed and seven others sustained injuries near Gaundisar village under Model Police Station limits in Boudh district. The deceased have been identified as Gajendra Mallick and his daughter Lipsa Mallick.
The mishap occurred while the victims were returning home from a wedding function in a nearby village. According to police sources, the motorcycle carrying Gajendra and Lipsa collided head-on with another two-wheeler coming from the opposite direction near Gaundisar. The impact of the crash was severe, leading to the instant death of both father and daughter.
Seven others who were injured in the accident were immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Boudh, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Medical teams are closely monitoring their condition.
Upon receiving information, a team from the Model Police Station arrived at the scene and began an investigation. The bodies were sent for post-mortem.
Expressing grief, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi offered his condolences to the bereaved family. He also announced an ex-gratia of ₹4 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
