Odisha CM meets Defence Minister, discusses defence infrastructure and state’s strategic role

Bhubaneswar, May 27: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a significant meeting with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi, focusing on enhancing defence infrastructure and Odisha’s growing strategic importance in national security.
The meeting, held as part of CM Majhi’s ongoing four-day visit to the national capital, aimed at strengthening coordination between the Centre and the state on key defence-related developments. The two leaders reportedly discussed the development of critical infrastructure, defence logistics, and Odisha's role as a strategic hub along the eastern coastline.
Following the meeting, CM Majhi took to social media platform X to share the outcome. He wrote: “Had a productive meeting with Hon’ble Union Defence Minister Shri @rajnathsingh ji in New Delhi. Discussed key issues related to defence infrastructure and #Odisha’s strategic importance. Grateful for his support and commitment to strengthening national security.”
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the Defence Minister’s proactive approach and emphasized Odisha’s readiness to support national defence priorities. The meeting underlined the Centre’s commitment to bolstering defence capabilities in the eastern region and marked a step forward in Odisha’s integration into national strategic planning.
