Indian shooters clinch gold in Men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions team event at Asian Games

New Delhi, Sep 29: Indian shooters Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Suresh Kusale, and Akhil Sheoran secured the gold medal in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions team event at the 19th Asian Games, held on Friday.
Notably, the Indian team not only claimed the gold but also shattered the previous world record, which was held by the United States, with a total of 1769 points. China secured the silver medal, while the Republic of Korea clinched the bronze.
Both Aishwary and Swapnil also advanced to the 50m rifle three positions individual final, achieving a joint-qualification Asian record score. However, Akhil, despite an impressive fifth-place finish with a score of 587-30x, missed out on the individual final due to the tournament's two-player-per-nation rule.
