VSSUT Burla takes strict disciplinary action against 100 students for misconduct and poor attendance

Bhubaneswar, April 28: In a strong move to restore discipline on campus, the authorities of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla, have taken stern action against nearly 100 students for misconduct, breach of discipline, and irregular attendance. The crackdown follows multiple complaints and detailed reports highlighting a rise in indiscipline across the university.
The University’s Disciplinary Committee for Students conducted a thorough review of each case and submitted its recommendations, which were subsequently approved by the Vice-Chancellor. Acting on these recommendations, the Registrar has issued an official notification detailing the disciplinary measures.
The penalties vary according to the gravity of each student's misconduct. Monetary fines ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 have been imposed. In more serious cases, students will face a reduction in their academic grades, which could impact their overall academic performance.
Besides financial and academic penalties, affected students have also been barred from participating in university-organised sports tournaments and cultural competitions. Additionally, they will be ineligible for medals, awards, and any form of academic recognition, sending a clear message about the university’s zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline.
