IMD issues heatwave warnings for Odisha from March 13-16

Bhubaneswar, March 12: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow and orange warnings for several districts in Odisha, cautioning residents about severe heatwave conditions from March 13 to March 16.
As per the latest forecast, a yellow warning has been issued for March 13, indicating possible heatwave conditions in isolated areas of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Balangir, and Boudh. The situation is expected to worsen on March 14, with heatwave conditions likely to impact Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Balangir, Boudh, Sundargarh, and Angul districts.
On March 15, the IMD has upgraded the warning to orange for Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Balangir, and Boudh, signaling an increased intensity of heatwave conditions. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from extreme heat.
A yellow warning has also been issued for heatwave conditions in Angul, Sonepur, Bargarh, Sundargarh, and Mayurbhanj. Alongside the heatwave warnings, IMD has predicted warm night conditions in several districts, including Sundargarh, Balangir, Bargarh, and Boudh.
The situation is expected to intensify further on March 16, with IMD issuing orange warnings for Jharsuguda and Sambalpur. Additionally, yellow warnings have been placed for Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, and Bargarh, where scorching heat is anticipated. Warm night conditions have also been predicted in Sundargarh, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, and Bargarh.
