16-year-old boy jumps into Tel River in Balangir, body recovered

Bhubaneswar, Feb 25: A 16-year-old boy, identified as Amlan Chhatria from Tusura village in Balangir district, allegedly jumped into the Tel River on Tuesday, leading to a tragic end.
According to eyewitnesses, Amlan arrived at the bridge on his bicycle, parked it, and suddenly leapt into the river, shocking onlookers.
Upon receiving information, Tusura police rushed to the spot and initiated a rescue operation. After an extensive search, they managed to retrieve his body and rushed him to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir. Unfortunately, doctors declared him brought dead.
Preliminary reports suggest that Amlan may have taken the extreme step due to a failed love affair, though the exact reason remains unknown. The police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to his death.
A post-mortem examination has been scheduled, and the cause of death will be confirmed once the report is available. Meanwhile, the tragic incident has shocked the local community, with many urging for increased mental health awareness among young individuals.
