IMD predicts rainfall in Odisha on February 19-20; temperature likely to rise

Bhubaneswar, Feb 15: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall in Odisha on February 19 and 20, with coastal areas and parts of northern Odisha, including Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts, expected to receive light to moderate showers.
According to the IMD, a change in weather patterns will result in a rise in night temperatures across the state by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next three days. Residents can expect warmer nights, while daytime temperatures remain relatively high in several parts of Odisha.
On February 16, Angul recorded the highest maximum temperature at 34.7 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Khordha at 34.5 degrees Celsius, Jharsuguda at 34.2 degrees Celsius, Boudh at 33.5 degrees Celsius, and Bhawanipatna and Nayagarh at 33 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Rourkela recorded the lowest night temperature at 9.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Jharsuguda at 10.2 degrees Celsius, Phulbani at 12.5 degrees Celsius, Sundargarh at 12.6 degrees Celsius, and Keonjhar at 13.8 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has advised people to stay updated on weather changes, as isolated rain showers could impact certain regions.
