Body of Plus 2 student under bridge in Cuttack, probe underway

Bhubaneswar, Feb 12: The body of a Plus 2 student was recovered from the banks of the Katahjodi River under the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Bridge in Cuttack on Wednesday, triggering shock and concern among locals.
The deceased has been identified as Prateek Das, a resident of Niladri Vihar in Bhubaneswar. According to sources, Prateek had been staying with a relative in Bhubaneswar and was reported missing since Tuesday. Despite frantic efforts by his family to locate him, he remained untraceable. His mobile phone had also been switched off, adding to their worries.
On Wednesday morning, some locals spotted a body under the bridge and immediately alerted the police. A team from Markat Nagar police station reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Officials are trying to determine how and why Prateek ended up in Cuttack and the circumstances leading to his death.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Whether it was an accident, suicide, or foul play is yet to be determined. Further investigation is underway to uncover the details behind the tragic incident.
