Odisha govt extends e-KYC deadline for ration card holders until February 15

Bhubaneswar, Jan 30: The Odisha government has announced an extension of the deadline for updating e-KYC for ration card beneficiaries until February 15, as per a statement from Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Thursday.
Minister Patra explained that the initial deadline for updating e-KYC was set for January 31, but due to a significant number of beneficiaries yet to complete the process, the government has decided to extend the deadline. "We have decided to extend the deadline to February 15 for updating e-KYC details," the Minister said.
Currently, around 39 lakh beneficiaries in the state have not yet updated their e-KYC information. On the other hand, a total of 2.95 crore individuals in Odisha and 1.32 lakh people residing outside the state have successfully completed their e-KYC updates.
The government has urged all beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC process by the extended deadline to ensure they continue receiving benefits under the Public Distribution System (PDS). The e-KYC update is essential for maintaining access to ration supplies and other related services.
