Bhubaneswar, Jan 27: In a shocking incident near Bijipur Kali temple under Town police limits in Ganjam, 15 bike-borne miscreants attacked two youths, including a student of Khallikote College. The miscreants reportedly opened fire at the victims before fleeing the scene.

The injured youths have been identified as Sujan Patra, a Khallikote College student, and his friend. Both were rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, where Sujan is undergoing treatment for critical injuries, including severe head trauma.

According to reports, the miscreants arrived on motorcycles and assaulted Sujan and his friend without provocation. Although they opened fire, the bullets missed their targets. Sujan, who was left critically injured, recounted, “I was talking on the phone near the temple when the armed attackers ambushed us. I have no enmity with them and don’t know why they attacked me.”
The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the motive behind the attack. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
