Odisha braces for cold wave as temperatures dip further
Bhubaneswar, Jan 18: Odisha is set to experience a severe cold wave over the next four to five days, with mercury levels expected to plunge further, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD has predicted that several parts of the state will experience cold wave conditions, accompanied by moderate to dense fog. Districts such as Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, and Jharsuguda are likely to be most affected by foggy conditions over the next three days.
Temperatures have already dropped significantly in several regions, with Daringbadi recording a bone-chilling 6 degrees Celsius and Phulbani at 8.5 degrees Celsius. Cities like Rourkela, Kendujhar, and Bhubaneswar are also experiencing a noticeable dip in temperature.
Authorities have advised people to take precautions against the cold, especially during early mornings and late nights. The weather conditions may also impact visibility and road safety, prompting travelers to exercise caution.
