Passengers safe after Jharsuguda-Gondia train suffers electrical failure

Bhubaneswar, Dec 31: Passengers on the Jharsuguda-Gondia train experienced a close call on Tuesday morning when the pantograph of the train snapped while entering Jharsuguda railway station.
The incident occurred as the train approached platform number 2, reportedly due to a short circuit. The sudden malfunction resulted in an immediate loss of electricity across all compartments, accompanied by a loud noise that startled passengers.
As the electrical equipment in the bogies blew, dense smoke quickly filled the compartments, causing panic among the passengers and bystanders at the station. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and everyone managed to stay safe despite the alarming situation.
Railway staff promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation and began repairs on the damaged equipment. Normal train services resumed after approximately two hours, ensuring minimal disruption for other travelers. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of regular maintenance and safety protocols in railway operations to prevent such occurrences in the future.
