IMD predicts continued cold with clear skies ahead
Bhubaneswar, Dec 13: As temperatures continue to drop, the intensity of winter chill is increasing across Odisha. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that while there will be no significant change in night temperatures, daytime temperatures are expected to decrease by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
Over the next five to seven days, clear skies are anticipated throughout the state. Rourkela has emerged as the coldest city in Odisha, recording a low of 10.2 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. Other areas have also reported significant drops in temperature, with Phulbani at 11 degrees Celsius and Daringbadi slightly cooler at 11.5 degrees Celsius. Notably, parts of Mayurbhanj district experienced even colder conditions, with Upper Barakamuda hitting just 3 degrees Celsius and Chahala recording 4 degrees Celsius overnight.
Despite the biting cold, locals are making the most of the winter weather, enjoying morning walks and sipping hot tea while engaging in lively conversations at tea stalls.
