Suspicious bag found at Biju Patnaik International Airport amid Khalistani threat

Bhubaneswar, Nov 30: A suspicious bag sparked a security scare at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, following a recent threat from Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
The bag was discovered near the airport’s inner gate, prompting immediate action from the CISF and the dog squad. Security personnel cordoned off the area and conducted a thorough examination of the bag.
Upon investigation, the bag was found to belong to a passenger and contained no suspicious or harmful items. Airport authorities clarified that it was likely left behind due to oversight. A detailed verification process, including scanning and manual checks, ensured there was no threat.
This incident followed a chilling email and audio message from Pannun, targeting senior journalist Akshay Sahoo. The threat warned of an attack at the airport and aimed to disrupt the DGP conference, advising passengers to avoid flying from Bhubaneswar.
Authorities have heightened security at the airport and are closely monitoring the situation to ensure safety.
