Fog alert issued for Odisha: Precautionary measures advised

Bhubaneswar, Nov 22: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fog alert for several districts in Odisha, including Sundargarh, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal. According to the forecast, shallow to moderate fog is expected during the night of November 22, the morning and night of November 23, and the morning of November 24.
In response, the Special Relief Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary to the government have directed district collectors, police, and transport officials to implement measures to ensure safe vehicular movement on highways. This precaution is intended to minimize the risk of road accidents caused by reduced visibility during foggy conditions.
Residents and travellers in affected areas are urged to exercise caution while commuting. Authorities recommend using low-beam headlights, maintaining reduced speeds, and avoiding unnecessary travel during the affected hours. These advisory steps aim to safeguard public safety and ensure smooth transit during the period of reduced visibility.
