Collection Of Grains From November 20 - CM Majhi

Bhubaneswar : On Wednesday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a virtual meeting with district officials at Lok Seva Bhawan to streamline the upcoming grain collection system. It was reported from the discussion that all the relevant departments and district heads of the state government have made all preparations for the collection of grain free from defects.
It was reported from the meeting that the collection of grain will start from Bargarh district on the 20th. This grain collection system will start in Sambalpur on 22nd and then in all the districts of the state between November 20 and December 7. The minimum support price of paddy will be Rs 2,300 per quintal.
The Chief Minister will pay an additional Rs 800 per quintal of paddy to the farmers by organizing a state-level farmers' meeting at Sohela in Bargarh district on December 8. From December 8, Rs 2,300 along with an additional Rs 800 will be paid to the farmer's bank account through DBT within 48 hours.
Special provision has been made for the benefit of small and marginal farmers. Farmers are being sensitized through various information, education and communication programs about government initiatives for grain collection system.
The Chief Minister was aware of the steps taken by the District Collectors and suggested to further improve the system. Grain Analyzer, Quality Analyst, Market Supervisor etc. were informed about the production in various grain markets. It was informed that the distribution of tokens to the farmers will start from the 15th. The District Magistrates can extend the validity of the token up to 7 days if they wish.
The Chief Minister directed the District Collectors to keep a direct watch on the districts adjoining the neighboring states so that the grains of the other states do not enter. He also stressed the importance of tightening the patrolling system through camera-equipped vehicles in the border areas and installing CCTV in mandis and taking measures to prevent cutting.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Chief Administrative Secretary, Food Supply and Camp Welfare Department, and Mr. Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, Commissioner and Administrative Secretary, Cooperative Department, gave information about the steps taken by their respective departments. The district officials also informed the chief minister about the preparations at the district level.
