Kidnapped Jeypore mill owner rescued by Koraput Police

Bhubaneswar, July 15: The mill owner kidnapped from Jeypore has been rescued. Two days after his abduction, Ramesh Patra was found in a car, according to reports on Monday. The Koraput Police successfully rescued Patra, who had been taken in the middle of the night.
The police are still investigating the motive behind the abduction. It has been alleged that the kidnapping occurred near a rice mill in Jeypore. The victim, A. Ramesh Patra, is the owner of a rice mill in Kumuliput and was abducted near Jayantigiri Perahandi Mill. His family reported the abduction to the Borigumma Police Station in Perahandi.
According to the reports, Ramesh was heading home around 8:30 PM after closing his business for the day when some miscreants stopped his car and allegedly abducted him. The primary motive behind the kidnapping appears to be ransom, as the kidnappers demanded a sum of one lakh.
