Bargarh hotelier found with throat slit

Bhubaneswar, July 10: A hotel owner was found dead with his throat slit in a paddy field under Paikamal police limits in Bargarh district last night, police reported.
The deceased, identified as Pinku Sahu (37), was a resident of Mandosil village. Pinku operated a hotel in front of the Nuapada tehsil office. Allegedly, he was attacked by miscreants wielding sharp weapons on Bhutamunda Road near his village.
Acting on a tip-off, his family members rushed to the scene and transported him to Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Pinku's body bore injury marks on his head and neck. After the post-mortem, his body will be returned to his family, police said.
Pinku was reportedly involved in ganja smuggling, and police suspect a past rivalry related to this activity may have led to his murder.
