Odisha Cabinet approves wage hike and major proposals in key meeting

Bhubaneswar, July 10: The Odisha Cabinet approved five significant proposals during its meeting on Wednesday, according to reports. Here are the key proposals that received approval:
Increased Daily Wages for Labourers: The minimum daily wage for unskilled labourers in Odisha has been raised from Rs. 392 to Rs. 500. Skilled labourers' wages have been increased to a range of Rs. 502 to Rs. 600 per day.
Teacher Appointments: The cabinet approved the appointment of 18,788 teachers to bolster the state's education system.
Balijatra Mela Recognition: A proposal to seek international recognition for Balijatra in Cuttack, Asia's largest open-air fair, was approved.
Odia Ashmita Fund and Establishments: A Rs. 200 crore corpus fund will be allocated for Odia Ashmita. Plans include establishing an Odia Ashmita Bhawan and an Odia translation academy.
Palm Leaf Manuscripts Museum: A talapatra pothi (palm leaf scriptures) museum will be established to preserve and showcase ancient manuscripts.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, began at 11:30 am at Lok Seva Bhavan.
