Law Minister promises enhanced measures for incident-free Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar, July 10: Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced on Wednesday that additional measures will be implemented to ensure the smooth conduct of Rath Yatra rituals, including the upcoming Bahuda Yatra.
Addressing a minor incident during the Pahandi ritual, the Minister emphasized that no harm came to Lord Balabhadra, though some servitors sustained minor injuries. He confirmed that the Chief Minister was informed about the incident last night.
"It was a minor incident. No harm was caused to Bhagawan. Some servitors suffered minor injuries. An inquiry report has already been sent to the Chief Minister, who is well aware of the situation," Harichandan stated.
He and Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida reviewed the Pahandi incident with concerned officers and servitors.
The Minister assured that further steps will be taken to ensure an incident-free Rath Yatra, with special attention to the Bahuda Yatra. He mentioned that the presence of unauthorized individuals on the Raths has been noted and the district administration has been directed to ensure that only servitors are allowed atop the Raths.
Harichandan also reported that a quarrel between two groups of servitors inside the temple had been resolved with the intervention of the district Collector.
