Classroom dispute turns violent: Student stabbed in ganjam
Bhubaneswar, June 28: A student allegedly stabbed his classmate following an altercation in front of their school in the Sanakemundi block of Ganjam district on Friday.
The incident occurred at Ramachandrapur Raghunath High School, under the Patapur police jurisdiction. Both students, classmates in Class IX, were involved in the altercation, sources said.
The injured student is currently receiving treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
Sources reported that the incident happened around 9 am, before the start of the first period. The two students reportedly argued over seating arrangements in the classroom, leading to one stabbing the other.
Initially, the injured student was admitted to Sergarh Hospital. As his condition worsened, he was transferred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital. Meanwhile, the police have detained the accused student and begun interrogation.
