Odisha government modifies leave rules for officials

Bhubaneswar, June 12: Reports on Wednesday indicated that the directive regarding leave for Odisha government employees has been partially amended.
The notice stated, "I am directed to inform that in partial modification of orders issued vide the GA & PG Department letter no.16777/Gen. dated 11th June 2024 regarding restriction on grant of leave and absence from headquarters."
It has now been decided that officers can take leave, provided they return to their place of posting immediately in case of any urgency. They must also ensure their availability via mobile without fail.
On June 11, in light of the formation of the new government, it was decreed that no government officials could take leave or permission to leave the headquarters until June 30. This directive was issued by the General Administration Department of the Government of Odisha on Tuesday.
With the Swearing-in Ceremony of the new Council of Ministers scheduled for June 12 and anticipated changes by the new government, various governmental activities are expected to unfold. Therefore, it is crucial for all government officials to remain available in their respective headquarters to address any urgent assignments that may arise in the coming days, as stated in the government notice.
