IMD's warning: Heavy rainfall to drench Odisha for next seven days

Bhubaneswar, May 7: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts thundershowers and heavy rain across various parts of Odisha over the next week. In its mid-day bulletin on Tuesday, the regional IMD office in Bhubaneswar highlighted the likelihood of rainfall persisting in the state.
The weather office issued orange and yellow warnings for several districts, anticipating thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Hailstorms are also forecasted for certain areas.
Here's the weather forecast and warning for Odisha:
Day 1: Expect light to moderate rain/thundershowers in south Odisha, north coastal Odisha, and many places in north interior Odisha. Orange warnings are issued for several districts including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Ganjam.
Day 2: Similar conditions with thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall predicted in districts like Ganjam and Gajapati. Yellow warnings extend to areas like Balasore and Bhadrak.
Day 3: More rain and thunderstorms expected across Odisha, particularly in Balasore, Bhadrak, and Keonjhar.
Day 4: Light to moderate rain/thundershowers anticipated in north Odisha districts.
Day 5-7: Rain/thundershowers may persist in coastal Odisha and other parts of the state.
