Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to visit Odisha ahead of state elections

Bhubaneswar, May 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gearing up for a visit to Odisha on May 6th, just days before the state elections. According to BJP leader Golak Mohapatra, PM Modi will kick off his tour by addressing a public gathering in Behampur at 10 am, followed by another address at 12:30 pm in Nabarangpur.
With the elections in Odisha slated to commence on May 13th, the campaigning fervor is at its peak. Recently, BJP Party president JP Nadda rallied support at the Vijay Sankalp Samavesh in Ambapua, Berhampur, on April 28th, advocating for his party's candidates.
Echoing sentiments similar to Union Minister Amit Shah, who recently rallied in Sonepur, Nadda emphasized the need for change in Odisha. He highlighted that the elections are not merely about victory but about ushering in development, aligning with PM Modi's vision of a Developed India.
Nadda underscored the importance of a BJP-led government in Odisha to complement the developmental initiatives spearheaded by PM Modi nationwide. The Vijay Sankalp Samavesh witnessed participation from several party leaders, including State President Manmohan Samal, all rallying behind BJP candidates.
With 147 assembly constituencies and 21 Lok Sabha constituencies, Odisha's political landscape is poised for a significant shift. Presently, the Biju Janta Dal (BJD) holds 112 seats, while the BJP and Congress occupy 23 and 9 seats, respectively.
The Odisha Assembly Elections are scheduled to be held across four phases: May 13th, May 20th, May 25th, and June 1st, 2024.
