Boosting education: Odisha to sign MoU for PM SHRI Schools scheme

Bhubaneswar, March 28: In a significant stride towards enhancing the education landscape, the Odisha government has announced its intent to forge a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to implement the PM SHRI Schools scheme. This collaborative effort is poised to be formalized before the commencement of the academic year 2024-25.
The Ministry of Education expressed, "Odisha's decision to sign the MoU with the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for the PM SHRI Scheme marks a pivotal step towards bolstering educational initiatives." The initiative underscores a shared commitment to fortify school education and foster holistic student development in the state.
Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), the PM SHRI scheme aims to establish over 14,500 model schools nationwide, encompassing institutions managed by the Central government, state/UT administrations, local bodies, KVS, and NVS. These model schools endeavor to cultivate an inclusive learning milieu where each student receives encouragement and support, promoting a culture of active citizenship in line with the objectives outlined in the NEP 2020.
