IMD predicts rainy spell in select Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar, March 24: According to the regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, there's a forecast for light rain or thundershowers in select Odisha districts on Monday and Tuesday.
The IMD noted, "Maximum temperatures have notably risen at some places in north interior Odisha, significantly risen at many locations across north Odisha, and to a lesser extent in a few areas along the south coastal Odisha and south interior Odisha. However, temperatures have remained appreciably below normal at some spots in Interior Odisha, with conditions remaining normal elsewhere in Odisha."
Additionally, the weather office predicted a probable increase in maximum temperatures by 3°C to 5°C over the next three days across many parts of Odisha, with no significant change thereafter. Over the next five days, there's an expected rise in minimum temperatures by 2°C to 3°C across numerous locations in Odisha.
Observations recorded the highest maximum temperature at 38.0°C in Bolangir, while the lowest minimum temperature of 16.6°C was noted in Sundargarh, both in the plains of Odisha.
For Monday, there's a likelihood of light rain or thundershowers in Bargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, while dry weather is anticipated in the remaining districts of Odisha.
