Jharkhand Records 64.83%Voting In First Phase
Voting for the first phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections ended on Wednesday . In the first phase, votes have been received for 43 seats. 64.83% voting has been done in this phase. With this poll, the fate of 682 candidates has been sealed in the EVM. Voting was conducted from 7 am to 5 pm in all the polling stations. However, the voting ended at 4 pm in 950 booths. Along with the first phase of Jharkhand elections, the polling for 31 assembly seats in 10 states including Wayanad Lok Sabha seats in Kerala has ended.
The result of this by-election is a test of strength for both NDA and India Alliance . There are 7 seats in Rajasthan, 6 in West Bengal, 5 in Assam, 4 in Bihar, 3 in Karnataka, 2 in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Kerala and Meghalaya. The second phase of Jharkhand assembly polls will be held on November 20.
Along with this, there will be by-election in 9 seats of Uttar Pradesh, 4 seats of Punjab and one seat of Kerala. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.
