Jail warder found dead at official quarters in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, Mar 6: A jail warder was found dead at his official residence in Bhubaneswar’s Jharpada area on Friday, creating a stir in the locality. Police have begun an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Sarathi Pradhan, a native of Gajapati district. According to sources, Pradhan was staying with his family members at the government quarters in the capital city. He was currently posted as a warder at the Nayagarh Jail.
Family members reportedly discovered him unresponsive inside the quarters and immediately informed the police about the incident. The sudden death has left relatives and neighbours in shock.
After receiving the information, a team from Laxmi-Sagar police station rushed to the spot and began a preliminary inquiry. The police recovered the body from the quarters and later sent it for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Officials said the investigation is still in its initial stages and the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be determined. Police are examining all possible angles and are also recording statements of family members and others to gather more details about the circumstances leading to the death.
